VetSpon is an absorbable gelatin sponge made exclusively for veterinary surgery to provide effective, quick and easy hemostasis during general surgery and dental procedures. Sterile, water-insoluble and pliable, VetSpon will absorb biologically over 4 to 6 weeks. VetSpon can be used dry when structure is required in the procedure, or pre-wetted with sterile saline for a softer, faster absorbing sponge. No two surgeries or patients are exactly alike so VetSpon can be easily cut to the desired size and shape for the particular procedure and patient. By stopping oozing bleeding, VetSpon helps to increase visibility, allowing you to operate in a “clear,” dry area which can: • Save valuable surgical and anesthesia time • Help to enhance surgical precision • Help lead to faster recovery time By being implantable, VetSpon can help prevent internal post-operative oozing. VetSpon Dental Cubes are designed for dental extractions, tumor removal, laceration/trauma/ wound repair, and biopsies. Cubes are very pliable so they can be easily molded to desired shape. VetSpon Flex Sheets are designed for tumor removal, spay/neuter procedures, wound/laceration/trauma repair, and large dental extractions.
