Bioviva is an individually packaged, sterile, soluble, cellulose-based, bacteriostatic hemostatic gauze dressing made from oxidized, regenerated cellulose derived from plants. (Gelfoam Comparable) Bioviva absorbs blood and immediately transforms into a viscous gel, sealing the extraction site, filling wound voids, seals capillary ends and activating the clotting system to assist the body to stop bleeding.
Bioviva Topical (CMC) is an innovative soluble homostatic material for use in surgical dental procedures. Upon contact with blood it rapidly transforms into a translucent viscous gel which can effectively seal capillary ends and fill wound gaps. It helps stem blood flow by activating clotting. The dressing material is soft white or light yellow in color, and treated with regenerated cellulose.
